ADAPT-r Transition Training (TT) is directed at innovative practitioners: the training targets potential doctoral candidates and is geared toward assisting the practitioner’s transition from venturous practice to research. This Transition Training platform thus aims to provide the opportunity for advice as to the potential of the practitioner’s own practice work for transition into doctoral research. It addresses observers of the PRS (Practice Research Symposium) who express interest in potential future design practice research.

The 2 day Transition Training (TT) sessions in 2013 provide potential practice doctoral candidates with an introduction and overview of research methods appropriate to design practice research; case studies relevant to the transition issues are presented and discussed in different formats.Transition Training also includes examples of doctoral work at stages related to the milestone dynamic extending over the duration of the researcher’s candidature as well as the observation of doctoral examinations.
