TAKA Architects – Details and Devices

Alice Casey

Our research is primarily based around the work of our practice, TAKA Architects, both complete and ongoing. The ambition is that through the process of uncovering motivations we will become more aware of why and how we practice.

I am currently making an examination of building details in terms of their spatial implications (rather than purely as constructional assemblages). This has led me to the classification of certain types of junctions which perform in a similar spatial manner. I will show that the assemblage of these junction or detail types makes spaces and forms which particularise our Practice.
