My research is based around the work of our architectural practice, TAKA.
In initial stages I have been interrogating the role and value of reference in how we practice. Reference has played a central role in how I was taught, understand and develop architecture; however the mechanisms of this role have remained unclear to me.
Emerging mechanisms in the work are becoming clear, following initial research and reflection on the work of the practice. I have tentatively termed these – Moment, Coherency and Counterpoint. In forthcoming PRS I intend to describe the role of these mechanisms and explore how they might develop future practice.
